It is always inspiring to see the passion and drive that U.S. servicemen and women provide when it comes to raising money and commemorating fallen heroes.
The sacrifices that these special individuals have undertaken in the name of our freedom and national security should never be overlooked – especially in a time when our military is pulling out of two major battlefront efforts.
One unique organization is taking this passion to a whole new level, literally, by setting out to climb the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents.
The U.S. Air Force Seven Summits Challenge is comprised of an inspiring group of airmen who are doing just this. And, as we speak, they are embarking on a history-making journey to climb to the summit of Mount Everest – with the goal of reaching the summit on May 15th.
They will be the first military team to climb each continent’s highest mountain, and be the first United States military team to ever conquer Everest. The USAF Seven Summits program has also raised money to ensure that wounded warriors can join in on this epic journey (traveling with the team to Everest base camp), which helps them heal mentally, physically and spiritually.
We are excited to announce that Thermopylae Sciences & Technology is an official sponsor of this program. In addition to lending our financial support, our technology is helping this group connect with the rest of the world.
For example, the USAF Seven Summits climbers will share latitude and longitude data through the Thermopylae website, where the data will be viewable in 3D through our iSpatial product. In addition, we are hosting an RSS stream of all updates from the climbers and I will be receiving a personal phone call from the climbers – which I am very excited about – as they make their journey.
