For many companies, the idea of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is something that is often siloed within the organization – where the concept of giving does not necessarily permeate throughout the entire workforce.
At Thermopylae Sciences & Technology, we take a unique approach to giving where every employee is empowered and motivated to give back at all times. Whether it is donating money in the wake of the Boston bombing tragedy or sponsoring the inspiring USAF Seven Summits Program, our team is fully engaged when it comes to CSR – and it’s simply built into our DNA.
In addition to encouraging employees to volunteer their time and donate to their charities of choice – where the company matches the donation – we also host a unique March Madness pool where all employees get to participate for free. The top three winners then get to pick their favorite charities for Thermopylae to support.
We also bring this internal CSR approach to our partners and customers. Most recently, we sponsored a prize at the Going Google Roadshow where — rather than offering the standard Chromebook door prize — we created a giveaway where the winner could donate $500 to a charity of his or her choice. Needless to say, the winner was very excited about this very special opportunity.
At every turn of life, whether it is a natural disaster, a tragic event on the home front or simply the holidays, we offer a culture of 24/7 giving, which allows everyone in the organization to reap the benefits of doing good, while doing well.
For this simple reason, we will continue fostering this unique corporate culture, which allows everyone to fully participate.
