It is not often that you get to witness history in the making – especially when we live in a world where most of the significant challenges have already been met.

We are very pleased to announce that the U.S. Air Force Seven Summits team has officially made history by reaching the summit of Mount Everest. The report from the top of the world: extremely cold temperatures, but not a cloud in the sky.

These inspiring airmen are the first military team to climb each continent’s highest mountain, and now they can include Mount Everest on this illustrious list.   The group’s primary mission was to raise money to ensure that wounded warriors can join in on this epic journey in order to help them heal mentally, physically and spiritually.

Thermopylae Sciences & Technology is a proud sponsor of this endeavor, helping the USAF Seven Summits team every step of the way through monetary support as well as through our innovative technology to help connect the group with the rest of the world.

For example, the USAF Seven Summits climbers have shared latitude and longitude data through the Thermopylae website, where the data is viewable in 3D through our iSpatial product.  In addition, we hosted an RSS stream of all updates from the climbers as they made their journey.  The team also recently added a voice update to their blog where you can hear first-hand the progress they are making.

It is with great enthusiasm that we congratulate the USAF Seven Summits Program for making history. Your drive and determination are an inspiration and reminds us that anyone can accomplish the impossible.
